FAQs

How to start a fire table

A fire table can fall under three categories: match-lit, electronic, and push-button. For push-button starts, ensure that the gas is turned on and the knob is in the open position. Push down on the sparker and turn the knob counterclockwise until you see the flame. Adjust the knob setting until you find the desired flame height and heat setting.

Are fire tables safe on decks?

A propane or gas fire table can be used on a deck, patio, or anywhere in your backyard if they are on a stable surface and there is enough space and clearance for the fire table from other furniture. The fire table must fall under the ideal load capacity for your deck.

Can you cook on a fire table?

A propane or gas fire table can roast foods like hot dogs or marshmallows, but not all fire tables are designed for cooking or grilling. Grilling over a propane fire table will depend on what you’re cooking and the amount of grease involved, as additional cleaning will be required for your fire table. We recommend you check the manufacturer’s guide for warnings against cooking on your fire table.

Can you have a fire table under a covered patio?

While your fire table does not let off smoke, it must be placed in a well-ventilated area to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. To use a fire table on a covered patio, you need to leave at least 8 to 10 feet of clearance between the roof and the fire table top.

Do fire tables give off a lot of heat?

The average BTU range for a fire table is between 55,000 and 90,000. The higher the BTU rating, the more heat the fire table will produce. A fire table is designed to use propane and natural gas year-round.

What is the difference between a fire pit and a fire table?

An outdoor fire pit is typically made from metal or stone and is fuelled by charcoal or wood to feed an open flame. A fire table is an above-ground structure that uses propane or natural gas to produce a smokeless flame. A fire pit or a fire table can be used outdoors for cooking, socializing, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
